Condolences to Dr Peter Hammond and Family
Regulars readers of Reclaiming Rhodesia are familiar with regular contributor and beloved Rhodesian, Dr Hammond. His devoted wife Lenora lost her 11 year battle with cancer this week. Lenora was in constant pain and required oxygen support. She had chosen to be at home with her family who became her home care team. As Dr Hammond described earlier this month:
Lenora takes comfort in having all 4 of our children and 3 grandchildren in our home. She lights up every time anyone of them comes into the room.
Lenora had a tremendous impact on so many people in so many ways. Her Faith, active support and dedication allowed Dr Hammond to grow his missionary and activism work throughout the world while they home schooled and raised four children. Whether you knew her or not, we all have so much to thank her for. It is a great comfort to know she is home with the Lord.
Dr Peter Hammond wrote a brief letter shared by Scott from Loving Life TV. You can listen here.
“Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”Matthew 11:28
Our Lord Jesus Christ declared:
“I am the Resurrection and the Life. He who believes in Me will live, even though he dies.”John 11:25-26
“For though I am absent in body, yet I am with you in spirit, rejoicing to see your good order and the firmness of your faith in Christ.”Colossians 2:5
Very sad news indeed. Heartfelt condolences to Dr Hammond and his family. Romans 8:38-39
My deepest sympathies to you and your whole family, Dr Hammond, in this trying, sad time. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. God Bless.
May our Lord grant every mercy and consolation to Dr Hammond and his family at this time of sorrow and bereavement. May His eternal light shine upon the devoted wife, mother and grandmother Lenora, beloved member of the Frontline Fellowship and the Rhodesian community worldwide.
